Waiting On Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine
My pick for this week:
published June 7th by Swoon Reads
add to your Goodreads shelf // pre-order from Book Depo // or Amazon
Why?
The story sounds cute and I love when there are characters who have (for reasons fair or not) developed a reputation as studious or shy or quiet or whatever only to then do something seen as total out of character. While I do not love the characters who judge them so harshly or that they're expected to fit into a certain box, the story this provides can be really good.
I also kind of love that there is a 'bad boy surfer,' at all, let alone that he's the potential love interest.
I have had great luck with books from Swoon Reads so I am really looking forward to reading this one! (Plus, it has a superb title.)
That's my pick for this week, what's yours? Tell me in the comments and/or link me to your own post!
THE WAY TO GAME THE WALK OF SHAME by Jenn P. Nguyen
Taylor Simmons is screwed.
Things were hard enough when her single-minded dedication to her studies earned her the reputation of being an Ice Queen, but after getting drunk at a party and waking up next to bad boy surfer Evan McKinley, the entire school seems intent on tearing Taylor down with mockery and gossip.
Desperate to salvage her reputation, Taylor persuades Evan to pretend they’re in a serious romantic relationship. After all, it’s better to be the girl who tames the wild surfer than just another notch on his surfboard.
